I was just trying to explain to my friend last weekend how books/movies most people hyper about end up being very disappointing me. I think it's like you're right. Everyone's taste is different. Sometimes your reading interests can be very weird and that's okay as long as it's what you love.

I agree Rachel. I read a wide variety of books but almost every time I see someone raving about a popular book and I go to read it - it disappoints. Sometimes I do enjoy them but they are mostly fluff and I don't believe they will stand the test of time. That is why I prefer to read classic novels. Sometimes I don't like those either. So, everyone is different. I also like to read middle grade fiction - it is very entertaining without all the romance. I am not a fan of romance! Some of my favorite books are "children's books," like The Giver, Through the Looking Glass and Charlotte's Web. I also like fantasy and in my opinion, some great fantasy series have been written for kids, like The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis, The Time Quintet by Madeleine L'Engle, His Dark Materials by Phillip Pullman, the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, etc. Thanks for introducing this subject!
